two space cadets and a twig smelling mattress,
naked feet and smiling cheeks,
wood stove keeping our bare bottoms warm,
blankets holding us in their cocoon.
moon hanging in the mouth of the sky,
winking at us through the frosted window,
trees cradle nests as our nest cradles us,
the wind is howling..
dreams begin to whisper into our ears,
lips pressed, warm against each others necks,
eyes closed with the closeness of comfort,
coo coo coo coo
i feel like a rabbit wrapped in your arms,
ready to turn into a wolf,
& run through the sleeping forrest.
collecting raven bone & snail shell,
magic medicines of the wild animal.
tucked in mind pouches and heart pockets,
for safe keeping..
i'm the huntress and the hunted.
